Thanks for the information, it is another piece in the jig-saw puzzle.
Anton and Greet had a short demonstration sail on my Cape Cutter (Mary Ann) on Lake Windermere on 17th October but had not decided at that time which (if any) Cape Cutter they would buy. I subsequently learnt that they had bought the Southampton Boat Show boat, but I had no idea what the hull number was.
There must be quite a few Cape Cutters now in the Netherlands, hardly surprising really, the dutch are very discerning when it comes to boating matters. I hope to be taking Mary Ann to Friesland (for a holiday) at some time. I did this with my previous boat (a Winkle Brig) and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
We can therefore assume that the previous 110 hull numbers have therefore all been built/allocated. Which leads me to return to the start of this thread.
Who owns the the boats which are blanks in the owners register?
I note that Michel (Black Sheep) has attempted to add his details to the register, but it has not worked for him. Are there others in the same boat?
I hope new owners respond. I would like to meet up with any owners around Chichester harbour during the winter. I saw Caperberry recently laid up for the winter at one of the harbour yacht clubs but I have no idea who the owner is. Maybe they are on the forum but because on signing up we are invited to create a user name it is hard to identify individuals. If they choose to not to complete the personal info section, they are completely anonymous. I'm not saying giving full details has to be compulsory but I would expect it to be the norm. Perhaps we could encourage users, members and non members to complete some personal details.
Chris,
Well spotted, I own Caperberry, we sail out of Emsworth and live up in Westbourne. I have just added my name to the owners register (hull 102).
Would be good to meet up. My brother in law also has one, based over in Birdham, I am sure we can persuade him over to talk boats over a beer.
Regards
James
