Cardigan Bay 2013

Post by erbster »

Hi folks,

Since our climate does not seem to know what the seasons are any more, I am planning to be able to take advantage of any decent weather this season. Consequently, I have decided to put my boat at Porthmadog, care of Madoc Yacht Club for the month of March.

Anyone have any recommendations for places to visit in the area? I'm thinking of Shell Island for picnics, following the tide up past Barmouth, visiting Pwllheli and Abersoch.

Thoughts? Anyone fancy joining us?

I'm hoping to join you up there at some stage.

We went there in 2011 and found it a stunning place to sail. Here's what you could expect, weather permitting of course!

Only had time for a quick motor round the bay yesterday, but it was such a lovely day, I couldn't resist! Madoc Yacht Club facilities very good. Porthmadog looks like an excellent base. I wonder how many weekends in March we'll get suitable weather.....?
