The current relatively poor exchange rate of the £ vs € is not good for those of us who like to spend some time annoying our continental friends each summer.
However, it is good news for Cape Cutter production.
Bob Brown (HM) was telling me that he has just exported another CC19 to Germany last week and he has three sets of Germans visiting Rochdale in the near future with a view to buying. Cape Cutters are currently about 20% cheaper (for our continental friends) than they were a couple of years ago when when the exchange rate was about 1.44 € to the £.
Bob also told me that he had 5 hulls in build at the moment with two going out to english buyers in the next couple of weeks. He is up to hull number 120 apparently.
It is good to know that our favourite boat is surviving the recession.
Cheers everyone
Dennis
