Asymmetry of hull

I'm currently fashioning some panels to fit on the companionway bulkhead. At each end there is a coamings profile hole to access the coaming void, and this void will become storage/bookshelf.

I'm surprised at the variation between port and starboard. I would have thought the same panels would fit both sides when reversed.

I am currently making some wooden replacements for the canvas pockets. It is quite an eye opener when you start taking measurements and comparing port and starboard.

My cupboard units are not in the same longitudinal position. Port is approx 1" further forward than starboard!.

I will post some pics, when I have finished the job.
Cheers
