The prime movers for your Cape Cutter 19.....

My mast is rotting behind the top mastband and I now have a big hole where I should have a small one for the bolt. Has anyone got any advice on repair. Can I fill it with epoxy and redrill. Could I have a larger mastband made? Is it a job for a professional mast builder?

If the rot is not covering too much thickness I'm sure a good carpenter could make a repair. Our local boat builder did exactly this on Dipper when it arrived in Greece two years ago. The mast band was removed a perfect repair was made and the mast was perfect.
So ask a local boat builder / carpenter as a first step.
