I have an outboard well plug purchased from Nick a couple of year ago. It has an eye bolt that goes through and requires an attachment underneath. I epoxied in a u shaped attachment (deck eye / fairlead) on the back of the outboard well (the flat bit at the bottom) and cut a section out of the eye bolt to hook in before tightening. This worked well until the epoxy gave way (its not strong enough). So I am looking to bolt on the u shaped attachment with two bolts and nuts, being as the flat section is below the waterline I want to make sure this is ok. The flat section is I’m guessing 16mm thick and I’m wondering if it’s ok to drill through, that it’s not hollow at all, I’m assuming not. Has anyone done this many thanks Matt
