CC19 suited to San Francisco Bay conditions?

Postby basin » Wed Aug 26, 2015 6:12 pm

I am considering the CC19 for trailering around northern California, primarily sailing in the San Francisco Bay. Wind conditions during the sailing season are typically 18-25 knots (Beaufort scale 5 and 6) every afternoon, and on ebb tide the chop can be short period waves of 1.5-2' (0.5-0.7 meters) amplitude. Can any of you experienced CC19 sailors weigh in on whether this boat is appropriate to these conditions? I guess in part I'm trying to determine whether the CC21 would be a better fit for these conditions. I'd prefer the 19 for ease of trailering and launching. Thanks in advance for your comments.

There is no problem with F6 and those wave heights... Double reefed main, yankee and jib in various combinations...
