Looks like Dennis is getting some miles in training for the International CC19 Week next year!
We left Cowes at lunchtime on Sunday and sailed over to the Beaulieu river and up to Buckler's Hard. Then, today, we were up at 6am and sailed back to Northney in Chichester Hbr. A cracking sail with tide and F4 up the back end for the first two thirds, then F4/5 on the beam between Southsea and Chichester entrance. I furled the yankee some of that bit.
I'm out now. Launched at Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire this morning, then sailed over to Jone's Bay on Caldey Island. I've just cooked a curry and will stay here overnight.
I intended to sail from Caldey Island, nr Tenby, to Lundy today. I set off from the anchorage at 06:30' but the promised F3/4 from the west wasn't there. I drifted for a while, then some wind came, then it went. I could only manage 2kts maximum. I decided to turn back after 90 frustrating minutes, and even more so when the update weather forecast came through saying it was going to blow up to F6.
I went back to Tenby harbour, but not before I'd had a pod of dolphins swim alongside.
Not such good weather today. Yesterday I was collared by a guy interested in a CC19, so today we went on a test sail to Caldey Sound, then back to east Caldey, out to sea, then to Jone's Bay for lunch. We sailed back to the harbour making sure to 'showboat' close to shore whenever we could.
Launched late on Friday night at Northney and slept overnight on a berth. Enjoyed a lovely sail in the sun along the shore of Hayling Bay, past the mouth of Langstone harbour, through the small boat channel and past Southsea pier into Portsmouth harbour. We berthed at Haslar and enjoyed the foot ferry to gun wharf quay and went up spinnaker tower, where we played "where's wally" trying to spot our boat in the marina below.
Had to wait for the fog to clear before setting out on Sunday, before a fine sail to anchor at Bembridge for lunch and then a run back into Chichester harbour. The forecast for next weekend looks good too!

Not much today - just motor sailed from Tenby to Saundersfoot to haul out. It took me hours to pack away, as there were people queueing up to speak about Zephyr and have a look inside. Bob should forget the boat show, and just get a boat and tow it round the coast.
Today Mary Ann and Zimp sailed together Slotermeer, Woudsend (to have a beer), Hegermeer and Fiskersbuorren (to have a coffee). Nice day, beautiful weather!
Launched from Northney yesterday evening and motored down to East Head, where we spent a very peaceful night at anchor. Light winds today, so we drifted past Langstone and Southsea to Portsmouth with the tide (the water did more work than the wind), stopping for a swim off the beach. A vintage evening sitting in the cockpit, watching the boats.
