Hello guys,
I am thinking of installing a tiller pilot
Internet searching has come up with three suitable units.
The Simrad TP10
The Raymarine ST1000 and ST2000.
I will not need an interface just a simple unit to keep her on course.
Anyone got any comments for or against?
Anyone got one for sale?

So I decided. I bought a Simrad TP10.
Just have to work out what brackets I need to fit it to a CC.
Looking forward to trying it out.

Mine is a TP10. Check back through my pics, videos and blog for lots of images. The first owner fitted it. He mounted a shaped piece of teak on the port side with two ss screws. It works very well.

I installed a TP10 on our CC.
I used bracket TB30 and rod extension PRE150.
The mounting cup was installed by drilling a hole in the hull.

I bought an ST2000 as the innards are better designed than the TP10 and ST1000. I have had no problem with it.

It uses a different mechanism to control the RAM and I decided that from an Engineering perspective it would be more reliable. I think it uses the same power as the others.

I bought it with the remote control so can sit at the bow steering the boat!

A bit of a gimmick but it was free with it at the boat show years ago. At the time it was £100 more than the ST1000 so was a bit of a no brainer.

Tiller pilot sea trials were successful. Very impressed and happy.
Did have some problems at first but sorted them out. The ram was getting struck at the end of the stroke. I repositioned the rotation pick ups closer to the magnets. All good now.
