On what waters do you (or would like to) sail your CC19?

Postby Martha Pekelharing » Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:16 pm

Dear all,

Whet dreaming about the summer holidays, we were wondering on what waters other owners sail their CC19's. Our CC19 is located in "Friesland" (NL, sheltered inland water). But we occasionally bring her out to the "Waddenzee" (NL, coastal) and have sailed in East Germany (coastal, Baltic Sea).

Oficially the CC19 is rated ISO class C:
- inland / coastal
- up to 6 Bft / 27 Kts
- up to 2 meter high waves
- up to 60km (37 mile) per hour guests

On the forum I've read about CC's sailing in the Irish Sea, Schotland inland waters, the Solent. But also an occasional trip to the Canal Islands?

Out of curiosity:
- Where do you sail your CC19?
- What waters would be on your bucket list? / Would you have any suggestions for a must-go holiday? (Heard the Stockholm Archipelago is beautiful.)
- In what conditions do you feel or don't feel safe? (I'm aware this is very dependant on anyone's experience.)

Looking forward to hear from you!

Warm regards,

I have taken Aurora to Cornwall, Wales, Solent, Scotland and Sweden. I do not want to spend my holiday on passage out of sight of land, so choose to use its eminent trailerability.

My bucket list would include Scilly Isles, Brest/Semaine de Golfe, Netherlands, Inner Hebrides, NE Scotland, West of Ireland. Perhaps even a circumnavigation.

We are based in Pelion / Gulf of Volos / North Sporades Islands in the Greek Aegean sea. There are two CC19s here now, always room for more. It is a wonderful sailing area. On this site, there are a few stories of our early sailing years here, Tales of the Aegean.

Happy sailing

We sail Cc#32 Swallowtail mostly on the lakes and rivers south of Berlin.
Last year we sailed in the Baltic Sea (Flensburg Fjord and Schlei Fjord).
I like to try next the Baltic waters around the isle of Usedom and Isle of RĂ¼gen in East Germany and also again the Flensburg Fjord and Danmark (Baltic coast).
I am also interested to sail in Friesland (wadden) but I never sailed in tide waters and wadden before so I would do that together with others.

Interesting cruising grounds. I drove across Denmark to Sweden some years ago and thought Denmark looked like good cape cuttering territory.
