Invite for mini cruise

Postby Michiel » Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:04 pm

Hi,

Just back from a great days sailing from the bay of Agay, nr St Rafael, around the Ile Sainte Marguerite, near Cannes, and back.
3.5 hrs going, 2.5 hrs back.
Single reef, jib and jankee going (3.5-5.0 kn tacking), full sail back(5.0-6.0kn).
Choppy sea, with plenty of spray to keep cool in 28C!:p

Debbie, better??half, and son Stuart, not keen, so most of sailing is alone.

Would love to do a 2-3 day cruise down to the Ile's d'Hyeres. Lovely snorkelling, food and wine.

Anybody out there that would like a few days cruising??
I can pick up from Nce airport, and accommodate before and after cruise.

We are here till the 2nd week in Sept.

What do you say Dennis??, beats Kielder hands down!!:D
(Bring you better?? half!!)

Michiel
Regards,
Michiel

Gosh Michiel ,I would like to take advantage of your offer.we cruised that area in 1987 in out Hustler 25.5 and would love to do it again.
Unfortunately I am training a new dog for working trials which makes it impossible to get away.i should have liked to go to Brittany in May but something to look forward to.
we had a most amusing experience on the way to IlesH.A motor boat came up astern and asked us the way.we were in the noddy of course but we gave him the course and off he went ahead..Being a bit nervous he thought he would keep an eye on us to check the course but the wind was foul and were tacking.Every time we tacked the blessed mobo tacked as well.
we had very strong winds there but we were anchored using my home made Chum on the anchor chain so when every one else [sensibly] went into the marina we happily sat it out.
Happy memories.Have fun.I have one or two more amusing stories from that area.

Maybe, but then depending on how well Nicky gets on in August I might even take Zephyr to the Med for a couple of months anyway. We could join you.
