Hi folk,
You chaps who use your CC19's as trailer sailers, as do I, are likely to be able to cast me some pearls of wisdom. Since building Tiptoe (CC19) I have sailed her only a couple of times, since we have a B&B here in New Zealand and once we got into our busy season sailing was not, alas, on the agenda. Now things will start getting quiet (southern hemisphere remember) after easter as winter sets in and the Marlborough Sounds will once again beckon.
So far when I have de-rigged Tiptoe I have left the mainsail lacing in place on the mast and just slid the mast aft when down through the lacing. But I'm thinking that it might be easier to actually remove the lacing each time? I wondered what anyone's comments might be regarding this and any other details relating to raising and lowering the mast of a wee gaffer with more cordage than a bowl of spaghetti to make things easier and avoid tangles.

If you look in the photos section (under Community) some boats now have sets of parallel beads to hold the mainsail to the mast- I have mast hoops- these stay on the mast.

Both make the process of taking the mainsail off the mast much easier than lacing.
