Storm Daniel in Thessaly Greece.

I have just posted this short account on the FB members group, just for information. We are fine and helping out where we can.

'The destruction caused by storm Daniel in the region of Thessaly and Pelion is beyond our imagination. It really didn't matter whether our boat survived or not because loss of lives, damage to people, property and livelihoods are the only concern.

However yesterday five days after the storm hit, I got out to Kaliope to find her secure and without damage. 15 pumps of the baler and she was dry. I hope to remove her 25 miles to a safe autumn mooring tomorrow and then continue to help out wherever we can ashore.'

As an aside when we purchased Kaliope I was 49 years old. Tomorrow I will match in years our sail number.
