Where are we going this year?

For general discussion about the Cape Cutter 19

Hi Stephan

Thanks for the information.

Does "Camping de Poel" have a slipway or do you use the craning facility?

We have been to Friesland before with a boat (2002) But on that occasion we were permanently camped (at Idskenhuizen) and day sailed.

This time we are intending to do a 10 day tour. We have not yet decided whether we will sleep on board all of the time or take a tent. Either way we will need to park the car and trailer for 10 days.

What were you going to point out in your photo albums?

Cheers

Dennis

You can ask http://www.foekema.nl/uk/uk-haven.htm. They have a slipway and a crane. I think you can leave your car and your trailer there as well

I've been thinking over the weekend about what Simon wrote. Being a 'one man show' is always difficult; it's impossible to be on top of everything so something has to give. Home lives are busy, and we all have other hobbies and interests. Like Simon I, too, have other hobbies and interests alongside working full time. To that end I can't take on the website and forum, organise rallies, do marketing, newsletters, etc, singlehanded, as we'll be in the same spot.

What I will do is join with others in ensuring that we can look to achieve what the CA set out to achieve. I'd happily take on more if it could be shared out with, say, two or three others. Will anyone with some time to spare, maybe retired, be able to do some writing and/or research?

Perhaps Simon could produce a document with everything that anyone taking over might need to know? Hosting account details, usernames, passwords, current finances, etc. What does the 'lock, stock and barrel' look like?

Will anyone else volunteer alongside me?

Really the help I need is with the addition of new content for the site. whether this is a twitter feed or articles in word format this would be great.

Articles such as cruising logs, modifications to boats, mast lifting etc would be most welcome.

The site DOES get a fair amount of visitors.

Kind Regards

Simon

Simon

I know that there are quite a few visitors to the forum, but to stimulate interest in rallies, etc, these visitors need to be owners. I note that the 'Active Members' number has fallen again and now stands at just 15. This discussion and your request for more content will just fall on the same stoney ground as before.

Can you please just reconsider the prospect of sending out an electronic message/newsletter/update to the subscribers to this forum in the hope that it stimulates something? With the right wording I'd be absolutely stunned if anyone were to even mention the 'spam' word. We all need reminders from time to time, and if people are used to the class not putting on events, then we should tell them when we are planning to.

I've set up a Twitter account @CapeCutter19 and will work on this.
