CC19 Sea Badger 2 for sale

CC19 Sea Badger 2 for sale

Postby Simon » Fri Sep 11, 2020 2:37 pm

I have decided to move on to another boat and my CC19 "Sea Badger 2" (sail number 87) is for sale. She was the London Boat Show boat in 2008, when owned by Mike Brooke, who subsequently sailed her round Britain for charity. He then went on to win his class in the Round The Island Race in her several times. As you might expect she is very comprehensively equipped.

She is currently on brokerage with Honnor Marine in Swanage, but I would be happy to provide a more detailed spec to anyone interested

Sorry to hear you’re leaving the fold. What are you moving on to, Simon? I looked at the brokerage page and it doesn’t give much info for a prospective buyer. I might be inclined to make an Apollo duck advert, especially as there are at least 3 for sale currently.

Thanks Charles. I've bought a Swallow Yachts Baycruiser 23. The CC19 is a great boat, but I wanted a bit more freeboard and a little more space in the cabin.

Hello Simon
I'm interested in Sea Badger 2 and have already been in contact with Tim at Honnor Marine and also with Mike Brooke.
Any information you could share would be very gratefully received.
One particular query I have is regarding the Gennaker. Is this an asymmetric spinnaker and are the necessary fittings already in place to fly it?
Thank you
Regards
Phil

Sea Badger 2 has now been sold.

I expect the new owner will update the Owners' List.

Happy sailing everyone.....

Hello fellow CC19 enthusiasts
I am the new and proud owner of Sea Badger II. She will be based at Emsworth, cruising Chichester Harbour, the Solent and maybe a bit further afield.
From a quick check on the owners list, it looks as though there may be about half a dozen CC19s in Chichester Harbour and another half a dozen around the Solent. I am hoping to meet up with the local CC19s and their crews as soon as we are able.
I also intend becoming a full member of the class association so, once I've paid my dues, my name tag should be changing from red to green very soon.
Cheers
Phil

Hello Phil and welcome!
An excellent sailing ground you have there - Chichester is great sheltered water for learning the boat and there are lots of places to explore.

Aurora’s mooring is in Portsmouth at Gosport, so not too far away.

You must join our rally at Whitsun - in your area! May 29th to Jun 5th - you’ll learn lots of tips on rigging and sailing the boat and it’s great fun cruising in company.

Hello Phil

I add my welcome to Cape Cutters and to the Association.

I live in Oxford so am truly a trailer sailor. But Northeney is one of my closest launching points. I will be down in the marina there as soon as permitted and I look forward to sailing with you.

All the best

Malcolm
