I am based in the village of Platania on the south coast of the Pelion peninsular, Central Greece. Our Cape Cutter (Kaliope) has recently been joined by Maya II owned by Tony and Helen Adams. We also have our Lune Whammel and friends with a Shrimper. A small fleet of gaff rigged small yachts.

This summer we are organising a 3 day village festival which will include a regatta. We are inviting a fleet of dingies and yachts in the area to take part.

We are aiming for 28 to 30 June 2018.

So if any boat owners (perhaps Europe or UK based) want to join us we can ensure you a warm welcome. Definitely warm!

Here is a video sailing in Platania harbour last October. The races will start and finish here with two provisional courses of 9nm and 5nm respectively all viewable from local beaches. For non sailers or apres sail there will be activities including the traditional village fiesta (panayeri) live music on the beach and maybe some organised hikes in the surrounding countryside.

It's a 4 day drive from the UK on the Balkan route from Austria we go through Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece. You can fly to Volos from Gatwick with easyJet or fly to Athens or Thessaloniki. I have 3 boats and there is only one of me. There will be sailing opportunities. Interested? ... upLV_bY5Ac

Video blog by Maarten and Iona who we took sailing on Kaliope last August. It shows the village and sailing very nicely.

You should start the video from about 2mins 30seconds to miss the intro and to start with the action down by the harbour...... (They were VERY enthusiastic!)

I will also be posting information on our facebook page
