Meet Yarmouth on Friday 4th May. A cruise weekend for small yachts.

Friday May 4th – Portsmouth
0240 1.0
0922 4.5
1501 0.8
So should facilitate a good morning sail to Yarmouth for people comming from the East.

Saturday May 5th – Portsmouth
0329 0.7
1015 4.7
1550 0.6
So if we leave 0915 UTC (10.15 BST) we should catch the stream going west. We should aim to arrive Poole just after LW, which is at 1535 0.5.

Sunday May 6th
Poole LW is at 0403 0.4 so looking at the tidal estimate in the Almanac it looks like the tide will be on the ebb from 10.00 onwards.

Portsmouth –
1106 4.8
1638 0.5
So using HW +5 we can get back into the Solent from 1606 onwards.

Depending on the weather we could then go back into Yarmouth or use the stream to get down as far as Cowes before sunset at 1952. I guess the decision as where each person wants to stop will be up to each skipper and depend on how tired they and their crew are.

Monday 7th May - for those who dont want to carry on East from Yarmouth until Monday (and that most likly would include us)

Portsmouth
0505 0.4
1159 4.9
1726 0.5
So there could be an early morning sail back eastwards.

Already about 6 boats signed up. I'll be launching at Buckler's Hard on the morning of Friday 4th.

I need your deposit

Folks

We are staying in Yarmouth Harbour on Friday 4th May, and Poole Quay Boat Haven on Saturday on Saturday 5th May. Beyond these dates we feel that people will want to make their own plans. To that end we have made arrangements with Yarmouth and Poole.

Yarmouth
In Yarmouth we will be a rally. This means that we need to pay a £5 registration fee now, but we won't need to pay for our stay until we get there. As a rally we get a 10% discount. You can decide where you want to stay - walk ashore or not - but we need to know now. We also need you to make a payment of the £5 now.

Can you all please let me have the following:-
Send me a DM with your e-mail address. I'll send mine back so you can pay me £5.50 to my PayPal acct (50p to cover fees)
Boat name
Overall boat length
Walk ashore or not

That's it.

Poole
Poole doesn't operate such a scheme, so can you please contact Kerry on 01202 649488 and make a reservation for however many nights you need. A discount may apply (not confirmed) so please quote 'Scuttlebutt Novice Cruise - as agreed with Henry'.

I hope this makes sense. Please DM me if not.

Russell

A couple of spaces have opened up for this event due to some boats not being readied in time. Anyone interested?

Well, we never made it to Poole, but did do around 80 miles in total. Northney, Cowes, Yarmouth, Gosport, Northney.
