David's report is excellent and subject to dates I'm happy to sign up. Sapphire's mast etc. is newly varnished so she's ready to go.

However the proposed trip doesn't appear to have generated the level of interest that we've had for the last 2 UK trips. Maybe it's the cost or perhaps because it feels more like a 2 week trip than a one week trip.

I think it would be a pity if there wasn't also a cape cutter rally that could attract wider participation to match or exceed the last couple of years. That probably means South Coast in May / June but there may be other views.

Unfortunately, personally, I can't commit to the May / June week as there may be competition from a proposed family holiday. However I'd still be happy to help with the organisation if it was at this end of the country.

I would encourage other members to express a view.

Happy Christmas to all members of the Association.

Paul, Thank you for your post above. I completely echo what you say about David's excellent report. Like Paul I have to rule out a May/June Rally and regret that due to a serious health issue (the dreaded C-word) I may not be able to join in any rally, either home or abroad, that might be planned in 2017. I have just (today) begun a 6 week course of combined chemo/radio-therapy and this will be followed by other chemo "cycles" to the end of July so I can't say if I'll be doing much sailing at all in 2017.

Not the way I planned to start the new year! I will keep everyone posted as to how I get on when I know more about what the future holds.....

All the best for 2017.

Hi Robert. Very sorry to hear about your health issues. Best wishes to you and your family and good luck with the treatment. I hope things start to look brighter very soon.

Please ignore my suggestions, looks like it's Holland. But count me in sharing with Rhonda..but only if it's May. Can't take time off in summer (or not so easily)

Cheers

Actually it's Rondo, Gary, but your welcome to share anyway, Boy-o!

Yes. I'm in for Holland now that the costs can be shared (so relying on you Gary!) David paints a very attractive picture of what is on offer in his report

It should be a lovely trip! Several owners have cruised in this area- its ideal for our type of boat.

Its January and thoughts turn to booking family holidays for the year (mutually exclusive of CC19 rallying if your family is as averse to boats as mine!)

Hence I would like to firm up as soon as practicable on dates for the 2017 Rally. Any news on this yet?

Best

First aware of this rally 28/12/16 so much later than most posts on the topic, however I'd be happy with either option.

Thanks
