Sailing Opportunities 2026

As the sailing season fast approaches and we are all wondering what we might fill the 2026 sailing season with, here are a few suggestions:

I did post these thoughts on the WhatsApp Cape Cuttings 2024/25 Group. This produced a tentative 8 boats for the Solent, 5 boats for Devon and 9 boats for Scotland.
Provisional thoughts are that they are informal get togethers rather than an Association Rally proper, taking the model from those of us who went to Scotland last year and 'made it up as we went along'.
So:

Solent – Cruise with Cuisine dates 11-27 May

Launch Hayling Island
Day sailing around Solent
Meet Old Gaffers for Regatta Yarmouth, IoW 23/24/25 May
Potential for mid cruise break Hayling – Hayling/Hayling – Hayling
Haul out Hayling
NB: Public Holiday 25 May


Devon – Sail and Saunter dates 11-26 July

Launch Plymouth
‘Alternate’ day sailing (coast and rivers) and walking South Devon Coast Path (and environs)
(Similar to CC19 Rally 2023 but at a slower pace)
Potential for mid cruise break Plymouth-Plymouth/Plymouth – Galmpton (River Dart)
Haul out Plymouth/Galmpton


Scotland – A Braw Blast dates 25 August – 8 September

Launch Dunstaffnage (Oban)
Explore Mull to Tobermory then Fort William, Caledonian Canal and Inverness
Potential for mid-cruise break Dunstaffnage - Dunstaffnage/Dunstaffnage – Inverness
Haul out Dunstaffnage/Inverness
NB: Public Holiday England 31 August


It is all tentative at present, but offers 'food for thought'. Only diarise in pencil
