Camping Tent and overall cover (mast up)

Postby Nico Steffen » Thu Jan 03, 2019 10:23 pm

At first a Happy New Year to the CC19 Community and Greetings from Berlin!

I think about buying the mast up overall cover or the camping tent from Cape Cutter Marine.
Does anyone use the mast up overall cover or the camping tent from Cape Cutter Marine/Honnor Marine?
Is the mast up cover usefull to protect the Boat while mooring?
How works the camping tent on boat and how much space for living i win with the tent?
Can anyone send my some pictures of the overall mast up cover and the camping tent?

Best Regards
Nico

While mooring I use the original cover. This cover is quite heavy so it stays ashore during sailing.

I use an Ikea product as camping tent, fits perfect on a CC19.

No picture unfortunately

Thank you for your answer, Zimp.
Can you tell me, how the cover is fixed on the boat and how the cover works with the boom and the lazy jacks?

Best regards
Nico

Hello Nico, to use the cover(s) I loosen or remove the lazy jacks and the peak halyard.
I fix the covers on the boat by using the transom cleats and the mid cleats.
Mid cleats are not standard on a CC19, I installed them myself, see picture gallery.

We have used something similar on Tystie with a cheap tarp, bungee cords to connect to the shroud base screw and the rear cleats. Lazyjacks slacked in favour of the peak halyard with a clove hitch at the end of the boom&gaff. We tensioned the throat halyard to lift the gaff nearer horizontal.
