you either love them or hate them.
" meths" completely denatured alcohol can be quite smelly, better to use Industrial D.A. ,difficult to get but not impossible.
advantages completely safe ,no chance of getting in the bilges.
I had a gas cannister explode on board one night in the Netherlands.quite frightening,locals rowed over expecting to see corpses.
worth looking at.
I take it that the reference to barnacles was to indicate my old fashioned views,nothing wrong with that.

No, barnacles was the first word that came to me.
I'd be a psychiatrist's nightmare!
I gather DA is not a 60's reference to a style of haircut.
From your experience, perhaps this is a topic to be pursued.
