Stainless steel sheet in an appropriate thickness is easy enough to obtain (if you can find a local company making stainless steel equipment such as for food processing, theyll often let you raid the scrap bin in exchange for a tea fund donation. Failing that, theres always ebay ). For drilling holes, use a low speed with plenty of pressure and oil. If you allow the drill to spin too fast without cutting it will rapidly blunt it.
