Gelcoat pigment (Honnor Marine colours)

Postby bellalistair » Sun Jun 25, 2023 8:14 pm

Just to advertise that I have just purchased 1/2kg of the Fascol Oxford Blue pigment as used on Rochdale Honnor marine boats. 1/2kg was the smallest amount I could source so if anyone wants a little for a repair just let me know! It is the West & Senior polyester dispersion paste so just adds in to clear gelcoat/flowcoat for use.

So if you need some let me know and I'll stick a small container in the post.

Cheers,

Alistair

Hi Alistair

I have a few repairs to do and will definitely be in need of some pigment so would appreciate if you can forward some if you still have any left. Please let me contribute to cost and let me know accordingly. I think you may still have my address from purchasing a burgee.

Thanks and regards
Nick

Hi Nick,
that's great, I'll find a suitable pot and get some in the post next week. You'll have to remind me of your address though as I don't keep a record. Either by email treasurer@capecutter... finds its way to me, or direct message on here should work.

Alistair
What a lovely surprise in the post today, thank you.
Apologies for not replying sooner but went away on the boat and couldn't charge my tablet for some reason..
I am sailing Bart Bash this Sunday so I'll put an extra tenner in the pot.
Many thanks once again.
Best regards
Nick

Alistair,

Are you able to change the name of this thread to “ pigmented gelcoat“ or some other such neutral name?

The point is that I also have a litre of gel coat from Honnor Marine, but mine is the Ivory for the topsides. I will only be using a few cc, and I would like to see the rest used by other owners before it goes off.

I had the same situation with a Coppercoat touchup kit a few years ago, so you could make this thread name encompass that too.

Can anyone reading this who needs some Ivory gelcoat private message me with an address and I’ll contact them direct?

Cheers

Hello Malcolm

I have poking around in the nether regions of the forum to try and rename this thread for you. No luck, I can delete, copy, move, lock, archive, and carry out a number of other procedures, but renaming a thread is not on the list. :(
Cheers

Dennis
