Your approach is spot on. I'm always a little hesitant to use metal
fittings that might thrash around a crew's face.

Following on your thoughts, the use of a dyneema shackle and
spiced genoa sheets might work?

Did you get wet today?

Hello David

I agree about metal fittings thrashing around. But I figured that the genoa clew was far enough away to avoid hitting me on the head.

Re "did I get wet today"?, actually I am in Dorset at the moment and the weather has been brilliant. Am I to assume that there has been some precipitation in glorious Northumberland?
